Last year, Gary and Lisa McCarney adopted Remy, a Burmese Mountain Dog, after he had been abused. Three days later, the dog was spooked and bolted. Between then and June 14, Gary and some very devoted volunteers did all they could to try and get Remy back home. Sadly, it was not to be. The dog, who touched many hearts, died this week, still living in the open areas of Hilton Head Island, where he has been since. As Gary said, "the ending is not what we wanted but it was not for lack of trying or support from friends and strangers."
