Pit Bull Drags Seven-Month-Old Baby By Diaper Out Of Burning House

An eight-month-old pit bull named Sasha is being hailed as a hero after saving her family when a fire broke out in their apartment complex in Stockton, California. Sasha was outside and "began to bang on the back door," as the flames moved through the building.

Nana Chaichanhda said that she let Sasha in and the young puppy started "barking at me like crazy and I was like, 'OK, this is weird. This is not like her."

Chaichanhda then saw the flames engulfing the building and ran to the bedroom of her seven-month-old daughter. When she reached the room, Sasha was already there and was dragging the young girl by her diaper out of bed.

“She had already had my baby by the diaper and was dragging her off the bed," she told FOX40. "I was like, 'Oh my gosh, what are you doing?'"

The fire left their apartment uninhabitable, but if it was not for Sasha's early warning the family may not have made it out alive.

"It meant a lot. I owe her everything. If it wasn’t for her, I would have still been in bed and things could have taken a worse turn," Chaichanhda said.

For now, the family is staying with a family member who lives in the same apartment complex.
