Multiple pedestrians, including a 9-year-old boy, were injured after being struck by a taxi outside the iconic Macy's store in Manhattan on Christmas Day, police and multiple sources told the New York Post.

Six victims were injured, including two taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center, as well as the child, who was taken to Bellevue Hospital, during the incident on 34th Street and 6th Avenue at around 4:00 p.m. local time. All of the hospitalized victims were reported to have experienced non-life-threatening injuries, sources with knowledge of the situation confirmed to the New York Post.

Three other injured individuals were treated at the scene.

Police were reported to still be probing the scene of the crash Wednesday evening, however, it is believed to be an accident. The crash occurred after law enforcement agencies worldwide have issued warnings about potential terrorist attacks during the holiday season after an anti-Islam activist drove his car through a Christmas market, killing five and injuring 200 others, in Germany last week.

The iconic Macy's store was featured in the iconic holiday film Miracle on 34th Street, which won three Academy awards and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being "culturally, historically or aesthetically significant."
