United Way of the Coastal Empire has activated the Rapid Response Disaster Fund across Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long Counties. These funds will provide critical response and recovery support to residents impacted by emergencies and disasters across the region.
In the wake of Hurricane Helene, residents across Bryan, Chatham, Effingham, Liberty, and Long Counties are facing severe challenges from widespread storm damage. Many homes have been damaged, and families will require both intermediate and long-term support. Communities are in urgent need as they begin the recovery process.
In response, the United Way of the Coastal Empire has activated its Rapid Response Disaster Fund to provide disaster relief, ensuring that essential resources and assistance reach the most vulnerable populations during this critical time.
United Way of the Coastal Empire activated the Rapid Response Disaster Relief Fund in partnership with County Emergency Management Agencies across the region. United Way’s role in this partnership is to spearhead fundraising efforts for disaster response and recovery. United Way will remain in close contact with all our county partners to ensure coordinated efforts. Funds will be allocated across the community for short-term relief and long-term recovery efforts as determined necessary by the County Emergency Management Agencies, based on damage and needs assessments.
